Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you're wondering how referrals work, when you'll get paid, or why we’re doing things differently—this is the place. Check out the FAQs below, and if you don’t find what you’re looking for, just reach out. We're building this with you, so no question is too small.

What is The Tech Job Network?
It is a prototype job network, that aims to link job seekers and employers together, using trusted referrers. Initially we're focusing on software engineering roles. Please refer to our "about page" for more information.
When are you launching?
We don’t have an exact date yet, we’re still building the MVP.
Right now, we’re inviting early sign-ups from software engineers, referrers, and employers to help us validate and de-risk the concept. Your early interest will shape the platform, and you’ll be the first to know (and benefit) when we launch in Perth.
What do you do with my data?
We take your privacy very seriously. Please refer to our privacy policy at the bottom of the page for more information.
How much will I get paid for referring someone?
Our goal is simple: when the network succeeds, the people who power it share in the rewards.
We plan to distribute one-third of all hiring revenue back to network participants. If a candidate you referred is hired, or if you’ve helped validate a candidate’s technical skills, you’ll earn a share of that pool.
The exact terms, including payout structure and fair-use safeguards, are still being finalised. We’ll publish the full details to network participants before we begin accepting referrals, so you’ll know exactly how it works before you make an introduction.
In short: help someone get hired, or help prove they’re great, and you’ll get paid.
How will you stop this from becoming a "pyramid scheme"?
We understand the concern but rest assured, this isn’t and won’t ever be a pyramid scheme.
Our goal is to reward meaningful, high-quality referrals, not create a race to invite the most people. While early adopters may have a small advantage, we’ll prevent anyone from gaming the system by ensuring every referral must meet our screening standards to qualify.
You’ll always be able to make as many referrals as you like—but only quality referrals will be rewarded. This keeps the focus where it belongs: helping great people get hired, not chasing numbers.
